There are many types and designs of orthodontic appliances which slowly and gently move your teeth into their desired alignment. The appliances can be either:

• Removable – able to be taken out for cleaning, or
• Fixed – only removable by your orthodontist at the end of your treatment.

Modern orthodontic appliances using porcelain or ceramic braces are now available, which look more attractive than traditional metal appliances. At the end of your treatment, we recommend you use a retainer to allow your teeth to stabilise in their new position.
